The Mitten is a Ukrainian fairy tale retold by Jan Brett about a boy with snow-white mittens who goes out into the woods to play. While out, he loses just one mitten. The woodland creatures see this mitten, and one by one, a mole, a rabbit, a hedgehog, an owl, a badger, a fox, a bear, and a mouse all decide to take shelter.

This intaglio print for my Printmaking class was challenging but rewarding. I had difficulty getting the plate clean, though I feel that adds to the final work instead of detracting.
